New Email Newsletter
Format
We are now using an
online newsletter editor for the
Fairlawn West Email News. In
the process of loading up the
addresses, we came to realize
that close to half of you were
not on the address list of the
previous format we were using.
Somehow in the process of moving
from hosting the newsletter on
our server to doing it through
Yahoo, a number of addresses
were inadvertently dropped. So
for this renewed new format, we
are sending it to a wide list
and you can respond it you want
to receive it. In the future
this newsletter will have a
variety of features that will be
beyond simply sharing Fairlawn
West news (which is important),
but also links and articles that
you will find helpful in your
journey in the everyday world.
Grace and peace.

Well, Feeling Great and Living
Longer both by Don Colbert. The

Visit
national award winning earth
friendly church bldg in Wooster |
| |
Sunday, June 24 following the
9:30 a.m. service a group of us
from Fairlawn West will travel
to Wooster to visit the
environmentally friendly
building of the Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship of Wayne
County. In fall of 2006, they
received LEED gold certification
from the
Green
Building Council, the
first of its kind for a place of
worship in the U.S. You can
visit their web site at
http://www.uufwc.org/leed.htm.
Feel free to join us right after
the service for the trip and
tour. Out of this we will
develop a team to look at how we
as a congregation can make our
bldg fit more into our values
and vision of our mission.

New Bible Study on Mondays sponsored
by FW in south Akron |
| |
|
We are starting a new Bible
study similar to the one that we
have had for 7 years in the food
court at Summit Mall. This is
as much a mission outreach as it
is a nurtuing for ourselves. We
will host the study at Miller
Ave UCC in south Akron in the
neighborhood between South Main
Street and Summit Lake. We will
be helping the UCC mission to
the neighborhood by hosting and
leading the study. It will be
on Mondays at 2:30 p.m. Exit
I-76/77 at South Main. Travel
about 1/2 mile to the first
stoplight and turn right on
Miller Ave. The church parking
lot will be at the corner of
Miller and Edison.
We have also been invited to
become part of the support
community for the Miller Ave
mission. That community is
presently made up of Trinity UCC
in Wadsworth, Bath UCC, First
Congregational in Hudson, and
the Eastern Ohio Association.
Their next gathering is July 5th
in the evening. If you are
interested in helping us in this
relationship, contact
deloar@yahoo.com. One of
their outreach missions for the
neighborhood is called Lunch
on Us which provides meals
at the end of the month. This
month it is June 23 and 30th.
It you would like to help with
either of these meals, contact
David.
