Weddings are a celebrative service of worship to honor and praise God. Couples will make a covenant (or "share vows") with God and one another to set the direction of their new shared life. We recognize that weddings are a social gathering, but in the context of a wedding with a Christian minister/pastor officiating it is more so a gathering of spiritual centering in God.

Our ministry is for both wedding planning and for marriage preparation. Couples will meet with an advisor (pastor or lay) a number of times:

1) a first time initial visit to get to know one another and talk about the pre-marital process which includes the PREPARE marriage inventory and wedding service

2) 1-3 times to review and discuss the results of the couples' PREPARE inventory

3) one time to plan the service

Couples who are not part of the life of Fairlawn-West are asked to come to worship. Having a sense of the mission and vision of our church is helpful to understand what a wedding in a Christian church is about. We do not rent out our building for weddings not connected with our wedding and marriage preparation ministry.
