Weddings are a celebrative service of worship to honor and praise God.   Couples will make a covenant (or "share vows") with God and one another to set the direction of their new shared life.  We recognize that weddings are a social gathering, but in the context of a wedding with a Christian minister/pastor officiating it is more so a gathering of spiritual centering in God.

Our ministry is for both wedding planning and for marriage preparation.  Couples will meet with an advisor (pastor or lay) a number of times: 

1) a first time initial visit to get to know one another and talk about the pre-marital process which includes the PREPARE marriage inventory and wedding service

 2) one or more times to review and discuss the results of the couples' PREPARE inventory

 3) one time to plan the service

Couples who are not part of the life of Fairlawn-West are encouraged to come to be a part of at least one of our worship services.  Having a sense of the mission and vision of our church is helpful to understand who we are and what is the foundation of how we approach a wedding ceremony.  We do not rent out our building for weddings not connected with our wedding and marriage preparation ministry.  PLEASE check out these links!
